Summer 2022 - Lancashire

As the year has progressed some kind of normality has resumed.

Probably one of the main events of the year are our judging nights which take place in May, this year we had two, hosted by Messrs. Parkinson with their Parkjay Herd and Messrs Booth with their Feizor Herd. We have always been most fortunate here in Lancashire to have such good cattle to judge on these nights and this year was no exception. Thank you so much to both our hosts for all the hard work put in and to all those club members who helped out.

Also, a big thank you to Jennie Booth for being Master Judge.......never an easy task with everyone else around the outside having an alternative opinion on the placings!!

The results are as follows

JUDGING;

B.Dunderdale Trophy - Thomas Herd

E.Townley Cup - Rosie Dennison

Jim Wrathall Trophy - Natasha Kirby

B.Sutcliffe Trophy - Rebecca Hodgson

Liscabank Trophy (highest placed gentleman) David Booth

Norah Rainford Trophy - Mrs Helen Herd

LINEAR;

Ingleview Trophy - Thomas Dennison

Lancashire Club Trophy - Will Lucas

B.Sutcliffe Trophy - Rosie Dennison

The John Loftus Shield for Open Reason Giving - Thomas Herd.

At the end of the judging, the Booth family kindly offered two sexed embryos for auction, the proceeds to be divided between Lancashire and Yorkshire H.Y.B.'s. Doorman x Feizor Berryholme GW Lasenza VG88 was purchased by Mr R.Cowgill and Ammo P x Feizor Defiant Kandie red was purchased by Mr R.Thompson

Other 'back to normal' events to look forward to are the Summer Herds Competitions to be judged in mid-June by Mr R.Wills, the one day trip at the end of June visiting the Bidlea and Woodhey herds in Cheshire and our Annual Treasure Tramp on 1st July kindly hosted by Messrs Mason in the picturesque area of Levens in South Cumbria.

May I finish by congratulating Messrs Wright on achieving Master Breeder Status.

Please find attached some photographs from the last night's judging.

Many thanks, Janet Whitlow
