South East Winter Meeting

The Clubs Winter meeting was well attended with thirty five members and friends who came to hear a talk from Matt Winter of the Corringham Herd . Matt gave an invigorating talk on the management and breeding of the herd , which was a top British Friesian herd in the 80’s to nowadays top Holstein herd and became runner up in the National Holstein herd competition in 2018 . Many great families have been developed including the Beth’s and Roxy’s with many sold at high prices in the Uk and Europe.

Our Winter herd Competition was judged jointly by Fiona and Bridget Boty (Hernhouse) with the following results

The Clubs stock judging evening was held in late May by kind permission of Oncoland Ltd , where two superb classes of cows were turned out by Ben and Holly Dyer . The judge for the evening was Arwyn Wilson, the winning HYB member was               . A barbecue concluded a superb evening enjoyed by over thirty members and friends.

Congratulations to Designer Holsteins for having the Breed and Inter Breed Champion with Whinchat Artie Beaujolais Red 4 at the South of England Show also collecting Res Champion with Designer Doorman Kimo.

 

Oncoland Ltd had a very successful Suffolk Show with Onco Art Mandy winning both Breed and Inter Breed Champion, a great achievement for Ben and Holly Dyer .
