Edition 4 - 2023 - South West Scotland

At the beginning of August, South West Scotland Holstein Club held their Annual Herds Competition with a good number of entries and exceptional quality. The competition was judged by Mr Rob Shanks of Queenscairn Farm, Kelso and was kindly sponsored by Harrison and Hetherington, Carlisle.

Taking the top spot for the Competition was Brian and Michael Yates of the Logan Herd, Castle Douglas. They took home the Clydesdale Bank Trophy for Overall Production and Inspection. Additionally the Logan herd were winners of the Individual Inspection, Progeny group with Rubels and Best 'Bought in' animal with Eedy Crushabull Acclaim.

Other awards from the prize giving were:

Exhibitor Bred Cow (Errolston Fit Mandy) and Heifer (Errolston Z BT Dream), both won by Brian and Craig Davidson, Errolston Farm, Gretna.
