Edition 4 - 2023 - North Wales

As normality gradually returns following the COVID pandemic the Club Annual Herd Competition took place during June and September. The main Herd Competition across the six North Wales Counties Anglesey, Caernarfonshire, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Montgomeryshire allowed Judge Frances Mellor to enjoy the splendour of the Farming Landscape.

The Champion Herd residing high above 1000 feet at Cerrigydrudion where Paul Kynaston and family looking after the Clustyblaidd Herd of Holsteins. Frances commenting on the beautiful scenery and her visit to Richard Williams`s Clynnog herd on shore at Aberdasach with the view across to Anglesey as one of those memorable moments in life.

The Jones brothers Monty and Jimmy at Garthmyl enjoying success with the Lady family scooping several awards the Cow Family tracing back almost 70 years to Montgomery Empress and R W Griffiths at the Woodlands. R W Griffiths one of founders of CBS the first private AI business amongst other successful business venture.

Thanks to Huw Rogers our Youngstock Judge for judging the Youngstock section who also traversed the splendour of North Wales Countryside.

The presentation Dinner at Royal Oak Betws y Coed welcomed HUK President Andrew Jones ROSSETT who recalled the Club playing a role in enabling Youngsters to partake in HYB activities. Aled Jones former HUK Trustee also reminiscing on establishment of Club with encouragement of Austin Fernehough then North Western Club Chairman. In recognition of several years support Carole Jones accepted a HUK Member Certificate on night presented by Andrew Jones.
