Edition 3 - 2023 - Yorkshire

Our Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday May 2nd. Many thanks were paid to our outgoing committee members for all the hard work they have done and special thanks was given to our outgoing secretary – Rachel Coates, for all the hard work and dedication she has given to the club over the past eight years.

The following officers for the forthcoming year were elected:-

Club President- Jenny Cowgill

Club President Elect – Edward Griffiths

Club Chairman- Robert Butterfield

HYB

Last year was reported as being the best year for the Yorkshire HYB group with an enjoyable training day held at Mark & Ann Lee’s followed by a successful time at the National Calf show. Credit to the Lawson family & Wayne Stead for winning Champion Yorkshire Calf at the calf show at York with Newbirks Chief Jazz 1970, which then led to been awarded Champion All Breeds Calf at the 2022 ABAB calf show at Peterborough.

Borderway UK Dairy Expo 2023 was another highlight; Ellie Saxby was awarded Reserve Champion Handler and Izzy Lee was class winner in the Under 12 Handling.

Stock Judging Evening

Our first stocking evening was hosted by the Hildreth family, Curlew Fields Farm and our thanks go to them for such a successful evening and to Sammi Throup for judging. Genus kindly sponsored the event.

31 adult club members judged, and the prizes were awarded to:

Junior Stock Judging - 1st Sidney Throup

Intermediate Stock Judging – 1st Tilly Green

Senior Stock Judging – 1st Ben Coates
