Winter Herds Competition and AGM

Like for the rest of you it has been business as usual here in the South and Wiltshire Club and who knows where we will be in this journey when you are reading this. All of our events have been postponed for now, but I am happy to report on our Winter herd competition and AGM which we managed to complete before we all locked down.

The wet winter months have seen us keeping busy as a club, we have held: Our Winter Herd Competition The Club AGM Our Annual Members Dinner And in the first week of April we will be playing in an interclub Skittles Match.

The South and Wiltshire Committee ended the year with a Christmas meal, followed by a productive meeting setting out the New Year’s events, meetings and club competitions.

In July we had a very informative and interesting Farm Walk and Talk at Longmoor Holsteins, Gillingham, Dorset with Colin and Stuart Rogers this was a follow up to the talk given by Stuart to our members earlier in this year.

The last few months have seen the start of the showing season for some of our members and has seen success in the rind for both our HYB members and their calves as well as wins for our senior members with their cows.

South & Wiltshire Club News February 2019

Our 2018 programme began with the club’s annual dinner held at Trowbridge Rugby Club, Wiltshire, attended by 60 members and friends. Guests included the current HUK President and his wife, David and Beatrice Perry and Master Judge for our 2017 summer herd competitions, Tim Quick and wife Jane.
