Holstein UK announces regional finalists for the 2023 Premier Herd Competition

Throughout the UK, seven herds have been recognized as the best within their region and have been named finalists in Holstein UK's Premier Herd Competition for 2023. Regional competitors were nominated by Holstein Breeders Clubs and, following judging, the regional winners are confirmed as follows:

• Eastern – Messrs Winter, Corringham Herd
• Northern – Skirwith Hall Farms Ltd, Stowbeck Herd
• Northern Ireland – G & J Booth, Beechview Holsteins
• Scottish – B & V Davidson, Errolston Herd
• Southern – Wills Brothers Limited, Willsbro Holsteins
• Welsh – Paul, Bessie & Bryn Williams, Waliswood Herd
• Western – Pierce, Milwr Holsteins

Brian Moorhouse of the Aireburn Herd, who won the award in 2022, has spent the past two weeks visiting the finalists to determine this year’s national winner. The national winner will claim the prestigious title at this year’s UK Dairy Day taking place on Wednesday 13^th September during the National Holstein Show.
