Schau der Besten, Verden, Germany

Holstein UK have invited Holstein Young Breeders to apply to be on the first ever team at the Masters Open competiting, taking place in Germany this February.

The competition will involve clipping and showmanship and whilst in Germany, you will also be able to watch the exclusive Masterrind Auction and the 47th “Schau der Besten”!

Competition Winners

We are delighted to announce that the winners of our MASTERs Open Competition are:

  • Junior Competitor - Emily Davis (Devon HYB Club)
  • Senior Competitor - Jonny Woodhouse (Lancashire HYB Club)

 

The Masters Open is a competition for young breeders from across Europe with countries putting forward their teams to compete in clipping and showmanship competitions against young breeders within their age category. The Junior category is open to competitors aged 16-20 whilst competitors in the Senior category must be aged 21-25.

The competition which is held in Verden will take place from Monday 24th February until Thursday 27th February. Read the full team announcement

 

Provisional schedule

Monday 24th February

Young breeders arrive and receive an introduction about their hosts, MASTERRIND GmbH.

Heifers will be drawn and young breeders can familiarise themselves with their animals.

Tuesday 25th February

Clipping competition and judging

Wednesday 26th February

Showmanship classes and judging

Young Breeders award ceremony

Viewing of the sale animals of the MASTERRIND EXCLUSIVE AUCTION, followed by the auction

Dairy Breeder's Party

Thursday 27th February

The “Niedersachsenhalle“ will see a total of 200 Holstein Cattle shown at the 47th “Schau der Besten”, competing for the title “Miss Schau der Besten 2020”
