Winter 2022 - South Wales

Harvest Thanksgiving
Everyone that travelled to the Harvest Thanksgiving at Maudlam Church thoroughly enjoyed the service and the food afterwards held at The Prince of Wales Pub kindly given by our President Mr John Lougher. Thank you John for a lovely evening.


ABAB National Calf Show
South Wales HYB members and calves went on to do well at the ABAB National Calf Show held in Peterborough in October, congrats to you all especially on winning the Club Choice Stand Award voted by all UK members !!! Great achievement. 


October Show & Sale
Held at Carmarthen Livestock Centre with Nock Deighton, with Tony Hack Santamaria judging and sponsored by Anwen Jones of Lallemand Animal Nutrition. Champion was Penrikka Dynasty Jessie from Geoff & Jean Williams, selling for £3,500. 


November Show & Sale
Held at Whitland Cattle Market with JJ Morris, with Gareth Jones Robleston Hall judging and sponsored by Cattle Information Service (CIS). Champion was Tregibby Pepper Julian from Wilson Tregibby, selling for £2,600.

December Show & Sale
Held at Carmarthen Livestock Centre, with Phil Bird Bartonwood judging and sponsored by Cogent Breeding. Champion was BB Rubicon Butterfly 3  from Baker & Sons, selling for
3,900. The Harfat Trophy competition was also held this month, points being awarded for production and inspection. Winning was Dulais Chief Amanda from Roberts, Wern selling for £3,600. A great festive day with mince pies and mulled wine given to everyone, getting us all into the Christmas mood !

January 23 Show & Sale
Held at Whitland Cattle market, our judges were Harri & Hannah Vaughan, Parcywern with Gary Davies of Farm-min sponsoring. Champion was BB Supershot Melo from Baker & Sons, selling for £2,800.

The South Wales Club would like to thank all sponsors for their continued support to the Shows & Sales, also the vendors and buyers. Also a huge thanks to JJ Morris Auctioneers and Nock Deighton Agricultural LLP for hosting every month. Great TEAM effort.
