The judge was Mr John Lomax.

Due to growing and demanding work commitments, Aran Owen retired from his position as the Club’s HYB Co-ordinator earlier in the year. The Club thanks Aran for all he has done for the young members – and we are very grateful that Aran is still in the background to help out when time allows.

Husband-and-wife duo Cameron and Becky Baty have kindly agreed to take on the role jointly and they look forward to organising and working with young members to develop
their skills and provide opportunities to socialise with like-minded friends….including a trip to a dry ski slope.

The Club’s HYB Training Day takes place on 21st May where young members will be given the opportunity to refresh and learn new skills with stock-judging demonstrations, calf selection, calf handling and clipping demonstrations. Thank you to Alan & Tanya Winstanley for hosting the day.

The Club Calf Show is booked for Saturday 24th September. Following the success of last year, it will again be held by kind permission of Mr J Ashbrook at Higher Farm, Byley, CW10 9LN. The Club’s first stockjudging evening will be hosted by Thomasson Farms Ltd at Cherry Orchard Farm, Wettenhall Road, Poole CW5 6AL, on Wednesday 25th May at 7.30 pm. The second stock-judging evening will be a combined event with the Shropshire Club and is kindly being hosted by Mr Ed Seaton & family, Kynsal Farm, Coxbank, Audlem, CW3 0EU. We look forward to welcoming members and friends to these very popular events again.

The Club will be welcoming Mr Mick Gould to judge this year’s Summer Herd Competition and judging is due to take place on the week commencing 13th June, please feel free to get in contact with the club if this is something you would like to enter. The results and presentation dinner will be held on Tuesday 25th October at the Bickerton Poacher, Bulkeley, Malpas, SY13 8BE, at 7.30 pm.
The Club has several events going on over the summer and encourages all to join us when you can.

There is a day of herd visits booked for Friday 15th July and we are waiting for a date to be confirmed for a factory visit to IAE in Stoke on Trent hopefully early August.  The Summer Extravaganza will be held on Sunday 21st August at Hilltop Farm, Aston by Budworth, by kind permission of the Shepherd Family. We plan to have a night of fun and laughter with friends, along with the HYB auction fundraiser.
