South & Wiltshire Club - October News

Like many other clubs we here at the South and Wiltshire Club are slowly and cautiously making our way into the new normal.

We started on this path by holding an in-person summer herd competition which was judged by Max Davies (Davlea Herd) and saw a total of eight exhibitors from the South and Wiltshire Club enter. Judging took place over two days in July and was celebrated a few weeks later, with a herd visit to Boxbrook Holsteins, Wiltshire, by kind invitation of Alan Gregory and Family which was followed by the presentations and BBQ.

Following on from this, by kind invitation of the South West Holstein Club, we joined them for their Summer Herd presentation evening and herd visit to the Withamhall Herd by kind invitation from Hugh and Hilary Miles and family.

Again, we joined forces with the South West Club to host our Calf and Showmanship Qualifier enabling our HYB members to once again enter the ring.

Looking forward, we are planning to host a winter talk by Abi Reader in November and our annual Members’ Dinner in January.

I would like to correct a misprint from the June 2021 Journal Michael Pottow was from the Eastknook Herd, Warminster.
