Holstein UK Rebalances Cost of Male Parentage

With effect from the 1^st February 2020, the cost of genomic testing a bull (of any age) will be reduced from £41.50 to £32.50 + VAT.

Genomic testing may also be used to verify parentage, instead of a conventional (microsatellite) DNA test – if both parents of a male calf being registered also have a UK genomic evaluation. Bulls tested in this way will also receive an unofficial UK genomic evaluation.

Male calves can also have their parentage checked using a microsatellite DNA test and the cost of this will now also be £32.50 + VAT.
