Exciting new UK-bred sire now available

UK Sires Direct have just released the first batch of semen from an exciting new UK-bred young Holstein sire. Wiltor Dallas offers an ideal combination of production, health and conformation traits for those farmers looking to breed medium-sized, easy to manage cattle that milk.

His genomic production proof indicates plenty of milk at almost 700kg with positive percentages for both fat and protein whilst his desirable health and management traits contribute to his PLI rating of £608. Dallas’s linear profile suggests he will maintain size and strength whilst adding great locomotion (+1.70) and improving udders. He will also improve Condition Score (+0.43), which combined with his positive rating for Fertility Index means his daughters should get back in-calf more easily.

Sired by De-Su 12128 Tailor, Dallas was born in November 2016 and arrived at the stud in Devon aged 12 months where he was quickly into his work. He has 10 generations of cows classified VG or EX behind him and he traces back to the famous EX94 Rotate Ebony cow. His dam is a VG85 Supersire daughter who produced over 14,000 kg in her first lactation at 4.5% fat and 3.3% protein (305 days) and is a former top 25 milking cow for NM$ (Net Merit), whilst his grandam has a second lactation record of 19,918kg at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein (365 days). In turn, her dam, Opsal Planet Fame VG86, was the number one female in the breed for protein for three years.

Given his maternal line and his impressive genomic proof, Wiltor Dallas looks like a very enticing prospect for UK dairy farmers. Semen is available now from UK Sires Direct (Tel. 01458 555551 or at £14 per straw plus VAT.
