National Competitions Day Results
Holstein Young Breeders (HYB), part of the Holstein UK Group, provides educational, training and networking opportunities for young people who have an interest in dairying. As part of its programme to educate the next generation, Holstein UK were delighted to welcome young breeders to the National Competitions Day in Shropshire on Saturday 14th August.
Hosted by the Shropshire Club at Hallon Farm near Bridgnorth in Shropshire, the one day event featured stock judging and linear assessment competitions. Young members were selected by their Clubs to compete at a national level with each Club having the opportunity to nominate two members for each of the junior, intermediate and senior categories for both of the competitions. Having merged with the HYB Weekend Rally in recent years, National Competitions Day hasn’t taken place as a standalone event since 2017.
The South Wales Club came away as overall stock judging team winners, followed by Staffordshire and then Western in third place. In the Linear Assessment, the winning teams were Cornwall (Senior), South Wales (Intermediate) and Shropshire (Junior).
