Derbyshire Club - May News

In February we welcomed Andy Wilson from Lely who gave us a very interesting talk on the company’s equipment and how they are improving with technology to make farming more automated with milking robots, robotic scraping equipment and automated feeding. The evening was well attended, and we enjoyed a lovely pie and pea supper.

The AGM was held in March at the Bentley Brook Hotel with the Club’s own Jess Mills as guest speaker. Jess spoke about entering and winning the President’s Medal in 2018 – and her prize trip to Canada. Officers elected – President, Tom Flower; Vice-President, Eric Easom; Chairman, William. Bunting; Vice-Chairman, Mr Harrison Mellor; Secretary, Richard Ford; Treasurer, Chris Morris; Assistant Treasurer Fiona Easom; Press Officer, Anne Cotton; HYB Co-ordinators, Anne Cotton & Alison Shepherd.


We thank our retiring Chairman David Cotton for the past three years as well as Ron Tomkinson and Tony Critchlow for their hard work and support on the committee for many years. Out second stock-judging will take place in May. There is a possible trip to visit farms in Lancashire, along with the Summer Herd competition taking place in June.
