Cornwall Holstein Club - October News

It’s been a busy time for the Cornwall club since the return to normality in June. We held our annual Herd Competition in the early summer and Les Bennett of the Lilylane herd and Jerry Palmer of the Sherdon herd had the unenviable task of judging a bumper entry of 17 herds this year. Well done to all exhibitors who competed. Results will be announced at our Dinner and Dance in January.

The HYB section have also had a busy time, having two stock judging training days. The first hosted by the Harris Family (Racewood Holsteins) under the expert guidance of Colin Christophers, and the second being hosted by the Budge Family (Kitcham Holsteins) under the guidance of Lynden Bustard. Thank you to both families and trainers for supporting our young members once again. Three young members then went up to Hallon Holsteins in Shropshire for the National Competitions Day, where William Neale was formally presented with the Littlestar Award and Steven Harris was formally presented with the President’s Medal. Stephen came 2nd in the Senior Linear, 4th in the Senior Stock judging and was part of the Senior Linear Team alongside Cari Thomas who won the senior linear and came 3rd in the senior stock judging.
