Yorkshire Celebrates Centenary

The Yorkshire Club celebrated its centenary in 2019. A Gala Dinner was held to mark the occasion, held at The Bridge Hotel Walshford. The evening consisted a dinner, dancing and lots of memories. Bill Shepard, who has memories of the club going back further than most, entertained the assembled members, past and present, with his tales. At the end of Bill’s address, Peter Waring presented Bill with a club award. Other club awards presented were the Thornton Trophy for show points won by ML Farming (Crystalclear) Also the Robin Cowgill HYB Award, presented by Jenny Cowgill to Frances Griffiths.


Staffordshire Presentation Evening

The presentation evening for our Summer Herd Competition was held in October. Judge Richard Thomas (Churchvale) spent two days with stewards Chris Howe and Debi MacKellar accompanying him around the competing herds.

South East AGM

The Club AGM was held at the Old Dairy, Pitchfont Farm, by kind permission of Bill and Di Peters. President David Heaseman chaired the meeting and after business was concluded we were delighted to welcome our guest speaker, Mr Steven Cox from the Sevenacre herd.

South & Wiltshire

South and Wiltshire 2020 Dates

The South and Wiltshire Committee ended the year with a Christmas meal, followed by a productive meeting setting out the New Year’s events, meetings and club competitions. 


Shropshire's end of 2019

Our annual social evening opened the Winter programme of events which entailed a quiz hosted by Richard Apperley – and won by the youngest team, which included James and Stephanie Doherty, Michael Whittaker and Richard Bostock plus family friend Chris.


Scotland Prizegiving

Boreland of Colvend at Dalbeattie was named top Scottish herd at the recent club prizegiving. Brian and Michael Yates from East Logan, Castle Douglas, picked up seven accolades in the competition, judged by Kevin Wilson of Warnelview.


Northumbria's Autumn Talks

The Club enjoyed two interesting autumn talks. Robert Craig spoke about the three dairy farms his business is involved in as well as First Milk and Politics. Philip Halhead spoke on his travels around America studying dairy farm management.


Lancashire's February News

Our Club would like to congratulate Amelia Hull on gaining third place in the Littlestar Award – and the HYB team who had a calf placed in the top six in every class at ABAB. Twelve-year-old Tom Dennison won his Handler class and Rosie Dennison was Honourable Mention Handler.


Derbyshire at ABAB

Eighteen HYB members and 10 adults attended the ABAB Show at Peterborough with eight calves. The theme of their stand this year was Under The Sea. Three calves finished in the top 10


Cornwall's 2019

The last few months of 2019 were busy for the Cornwall Club – and we’re looking forward to the New Year with plans for a variety of exciting events over the next 12 months.
