Location: Telford, Shropshire

Working Hours: 40 hours per week; 8 am til 8pm (exact hours to be agreed)

We are seeking a Quality Officer within the Laboratory to ensure all quality procedures and schedules are adhered to. Along with this, you will ensure that the requirements of the accreditation standard ISO 17025, UKAS and customers are met on a day-to-day basis.   

The Quality Officer will work closely with the Laboratory Manager to co-ordinate staff training. They will also maintain communication with laboratory staff and management, raising any instrumental failures, QC failures, health and safety issues that have impact on the overall operation.

Key Responsibilities 

  • To maintain the control of the Quality Management System: advise on and monitor all aspects of quality.
  • Maintain and review the electronic complaints and non-compliances log and ensure complaints, queries and non-compliances are dealt with in the appropriate manner. Perform trend analysis of complaints and non-compliances on regular basis.
  • Co-ordinate the records system throughout the laboratories and ensure records are completed and maintained as per the QM procedures.
  • Ensure that current issue of documents are held within the laboratory departments.
  • Be involved in the creation, review and amendments of all documents where required.
  • Ensure tests and procedures are properly documented, understood, carried out and evaluated.
  • Maintain the audit schedule and undertake according to the Audit Procedure and ensure that all improvement actions required have been completed.
  • Maintain equipment calibration schedules and ensure calibration records are up to date.
  • Monitor and assess IQC and EQA results for all methods. Undertake trend analysis on results obtained, monitor, review and undertake actions as required in documented procedures.
  • Write technical and quality management system reports on a quarterly basis and discuss findings with the management team.
  • Support laboratory management in terms of technical validation and supporting documentation.
