Autumn 2022 - Lancashire

The Club has enjoyed a busy 2022 season so far including  our One Day trip, Summer Herds Competitions and Young Members activities.

Our day trip in June was to Cheshire to the farms of Messrs Brown at Bidlea Dairy and Messrs Robinson at Woodhey Holsteins. Two really interesting visits. Our huge thanks go to both our hosts for the time taken and effort put in to show us their cows and enterprises to best advantage.

The next event was our Annual Treasure Tramp, hosted by very kind permission of the Mason family at Levens in a stunning setting at Levens in Cumbria, sadly, the evening weather proceeded to soak us all with probably one of the heaviest deluges of the summer!! Despite the rain we hardy souls trudged back with our soggy A4's to a welcome hot pie supper and raised a goodly sum towards funds. Thankyou to all those involved in the organisation of it.

Our Young Members have had a succesful year so far, taking part in the Young Members weekend the team were 4th Overall with Tom Dennison 1st Junior linear and teamed up with Thomas Herd to win the junior team. Well done to you all.

Hattie Jackson was one of the team to represent Holstein UK Young Breeders section at The European Young Breeders School at Belgium coming a most crediatable 16th overll in the competiotions out of 138 participants. Very well done Hattie, I am sure it will have been a memorable experience!
